“The Berwickshire District Arts Council, and Mr Jim Douglas and the committee of the

Royal British Legion in Duns, are keen supporters of the Berwickshire competition” (reports the Berwickshire News and East Lothian Herald, June 23rd 1994), “and recently, the Rev Ian Wotherspoon of Greenlaw, himself a piper, observed during the afternoon and at the conclusion gave words of encouragement to those in attendance, some of the competitors had come from as far afield as London and Liverpool. There was also a pipe-maker [Heriot & Allan. Ed] showing his wares and answering many queries from aspiring Lowland pipers. Pipe Major Tim Ainslie thanked Jim Eaton for organising the competition and Mrs Rosemary Wotherspoon presented the prizes”. RESULTS:-
