There is an unbroken tradition of fiddle music in the north-east of Scotland stretching back well over 250 years and, arguably, some of Scotland's greatest music was written for, and played on, the fiddle. This collection is the work of Dr George Greig who has made arrangements for bagpipe of tunes by well-known composers from that area such as William Marshall, James Scott Skinner, Daniel Dow, Alexander Walker and Peter Milne. Clearly, the fiddle has a much greater range than the pipe, but he has attempted to catch the essence of tunes normally calling for two octaves where minimal alteration can make them accessible and hopes that pipers will enjoy playing them.  NB: the Scott Skinner tunes can also be found in the Society's publication J. Scott Skinner.
