The LBPS YouTube channel

There is now a new official LBPS YouTube channel. Please do have a look and PLEASE SUBSCRIBE.

At the moment the channel is mostly made up of archive footage, but all LBPS members are now invited to submit videos for others to enjoy. As recent Zoom events have shown, we are an international community of enthusiastic pipers and we would like the videos on YouTube to reflect this too!

Guidelines for submission:

• You must be a paid-up member of the LBPS to submit a video (if you would like to join, click here for the Membership page).
• Videos should be no longer than 10 minutes.
• Videos must fall within the remit of the LBPS, that is, that they are bellows blown smallpipes or Border pipes and that the music is within the Lowland/Borders idiom of our society, as can be found in the Society’s music books.
• For the moment, please submit "traditional" tunes, to avoid any copyright problems for now. In the near future, we’ll look into having new tunes on there as long as there is solid permission from the composer, but in these early days, we’re asking for trad.
• On the YouTube channel, all videos will reference the LBPS and its website throughout, as has been happening so far. Your name and contribution will be included, of course, but we will include that you are an LBPS member.
• If you are interested, please email Adam Sanderson at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and arrangements will be made for you to send your video by Sendspace or similar. Please be patient when you email, as Adam has lots of other duties outside piping, but he will get back to you.

In the future, pipe makers will be contacted for contributions too. The channel doesn't have to be all music. Videos on pipe making, reed manipulation, setting up pipes, bellows technique, etc, care and maintenance would be equally valid on the channel. So, watch this space!
